Packaging Directive 94/62/EC
The Packaging Directive targets to the prevention of waste from packaging, the valorisaton of waste that cannot be avoided and in return achieve a reduction of packaging wastes for disposal. The member states can achieve the targets by installing take back and recycling schemes. Until the 31st December 2008, the following targets were to be achieved:
- 60 % of weight for glass
- 60 & of weight for paper and cartridge
- 50 % of weight for metal
- 22,5 of weight percent for plastics
- 15 % of weight for wood.
